What to know about fiber laser engraving

Fiber laser engraving uses a highly focused beam of light to create precise, detailed markings without damaging the mold. This non-contact engraving and marking process is faster and more efficient than traditional methods and virtually eliminates the risk of part deformation. Because fiber laser engraving is highly repeatable, it is ideal for high-volume or challenging engraving jobs, especially those with complex geometries.

With no need for specialized tooling or harsh chemicals, fiber laser engraving delivers consistent, reliable markings more quickly and efficiently than conventional engraving processes, helping you maximize productivity.

Materials & size capabilities

We can engrave the most ferrous materials, including:

We can produce engravings or markings on materials ranging from .030” pins up to cavity blocks weighing thousands of pounds. Our diameter capabilities are limited to approximately 6” and up to 40 lbs, although we can achieve custom diameters manually. 

Character & logo sizing

We can produce clear character markings as small as .018” and as big as a 6”x 6” window in a single pass. With 4th axis capability for radial markings on KO pins or gate inserts, we can reach depths ranging from a .0001” surface mark to a .030” deep engraving.
